for a secret project (which will be revealed later in the week), i have a set of lipstick tube pickups from GFS. here's what i want to do:
neck- bridge- MV- MT- 3 way toggle- output
here's the trouble... The pickups have 3 wires coming off them, a red, a white, and an unshielded. I know the unshielded one is ground, but what of the other two?
My dad and I wired it up last night and it didn't work.
Also, how should I connect the ground to the jag-style trem?

You'd imagine red is positive and white is negative, but if I were you, I'd wire just one of the pups straight to jack to make sure which is which. Try wiring the red to the tip of the jack and the white to the sleeve. If that works then we know that red is positive and white is negative. If it doesn't, then we know it's the other way round.
Then, wire it according to the following diagram, but adapt it for your purposes. The red and white leads on the diagram below can be ignored, they're already soldered together inside your pickups. Green is negative and black is positive.
No idea about the ground issue, sorry.

To ground the trem either use leaded solder, or just simply bend the wire under the tremolo unit onto the wood.

so it worked.
the only thing though, is that when in the middle position of the switch, only the neck pickup works.
so, instead of having:
Neck - Both - Bridge
its
Neck - Neck - Bridge
HALP!!!!

I'll post it when I get off work tonight. I hope I don't need a new switch...
