Last winter, I tried to build a 22.5" scale guitar and this was the sad result:
I decided to draw up plans and submit them to a luthier friend, plus some cold cash.

Six months later, this finally fell in my lap.
It's a gem.
All that remains from the prototype is the bridge.

I certainly applaud you're creativity toward the guitar and think it looks pretty decent but that thing is too damn small. That thing must feel like a toy. Secondly, why isn't the neck pickup closer to the neck? What was your idea on moving it down a bit?

Why does the pickup NEED to be closer to the neck? I've had guitars where the only pickup I enjoyed using was the middle one. Sometimes trying unconventional things in guitar building gives good results.

thanks everybody. the body has no veneer, just binding and a sonic blue top. it's all ash. the pickup placement was luthier's choice, but it's sounds very cool. also, the pickups are out of phase in the middle position, which was a happy accident. I got rid of an SG, a Mustang Reissue and a Les Paul Junior in order to have this done and it's kind of an amalgam of all those guitars.
i'll shoot for a demo today.

With an filtertron pickup or something.

the badge is from an old suitcase. we called it the plutone because is small, blue and far out. we thought about a decal, but it seems the only thing that looks decent on lacquered maple is the word, Fender.
flite 69 works, mainly because it's oldy timey and a bit saucy.
