NGD... Vista Cruiser content

so today I ran across a deal on Craigslist that I could not pass on.... so I left work early to enjoy the day (everyone at work was pissing me off) and picked this up
1997 CAR Squier Vista Jagmaster
its bone stock....its an early one as the truss rod adjustment is at the heel of the neck (pain in the ASS if u ask me)...good condition...little fret wear and was dirty as Fook!!!!
got it with a crap hardshell case for $185
I love the neck and suprised by my joy in the pu's.... not sure if I'm keen on the CAR but for this price a Re-Ranch refinish would be nothing... the pots do need replaced but thats easy... I will prolly have new pots, an Orange drop cap and a vol mod in there by the end of next week.... I was even contemplating a Dr..Stranglz switch too???....any thought or ideas on that? I have a shorty on/on toggley and the cap needed to do it
Here she is re-strung and cleaned up

If you want a strangle, and you've got to replace the pots anyway... I'd just do a push-pull pot. It'll look cleaner.
If you want to thin out the sound a bit though, I think I'd probably just set up coil taps for those buckers.
Don't touch that finish... please.

u mean coil split?... That is what I was gonna do but the Vista Tone HB's are only 2 wire...so no splitty
and don't worry about the CAR.... I'm lazy

damn, they are two wire? SUCK IT.
when i come up to STL, i will show you how to take non-blurry photos. we'll need a couple of my vista next to yours for the Library of Congress.

The Vistas used CIJ Jaguar necks. I had the exact same color/model as yours years ago, t'was a nice guitar.

don't repaint it though! I know a lot of people disagree but Candy Apple Red is really good finish!

I agree... I think a lot of people are just sick of it because in the late 90's/early 2000's Fender released practically every guitar in Candy Apple Red, so it was a bit overused during that period.
