My Blues Guitar: The Final Act

Got a first act guitar off craigslist for $25 bucks. Plays okay. I REALLY like the neck. Nice and chunky with medium frets and a narrow nut; perfect.
Body is small and I kind of like the pickup. Very bluesy, "I don't give a shit how this sounds" vibe. Hard to explain but pretty cool. Sanding down the body and neck and refinishing. Will probably reshape the pick guard and headstock and throw on a set of tuners. Should be a fun project. God knows how I'm going to get this super thick paint off. I'll probably try the good ole' heat gun method.
here we go!

i love those guitars. they do have really nice necks.
i always thought it'd look good with a LP JR style pickguard, and a tele humbucker bridge. i think the humbuckers are cool looking and sound damn good with fuzz.
my buddy had a really cool light blue one that he sold for cheap. i'd keep it exactly how it is, but i know how much you're itching for a new project.

I've been seriously considering a tele rails pickup with a tele bridge.
I think I'm going to try to do a Fiesta red if I can find a color at the auto store that would be close. Adam, you want to trade for your project and you want to keep it the way it is, let me know

Truth be told, I'm impressed with the design of these every time I see them. I love the body shape and pickguard.

The body is small. I'd say a little smaller than a mustang but it's shaped so goofy it's hard to say. It's also made of ply, I'm pretty sure. Which should be strong and light. Truth be told, I'm not sure why more guitars aren't made out of ply.
