The UlricvonJagMaster turned up this morning. Only had a chance of a quick look over before leaving for work but after a quiet panic from reading Wikipedia the other night, my trusty tape measure confirms it is indead 24" scale --- not that I didnt believe Ulric.
So with it being a 24" this is a JagMaster II ?? or is Wikipedia incorrect. Guess they were naver labeled as Jagmaster II on the headstock then?

Not plugged it in, but it plays ok, needs a setup, some glue and new strings and it will be fine. Acoustically it sems to have a quite dark tone but that could be the aged strings.
Bloody heavy lump it is too, no neck dive here!

Most importantly I got it past the darkness at the top of the stairs by saying it was for the eldest, not for me.

My mind has been ticking over already... does anyone know if these guitars are routed the same as their older orginal cousins -under that huge expanse of plastic? If so might try and retrofit this back to a Jaguar lookalikey. never really liked jauars until now.

Its a conversion neck dude, which means the body will also intonate with a 25.5 Strat neck.

Yeah I know, I was worried it might have been an earlier 25.5 scale version. I understand conversion necks a bit better now after reading up on them. Opens up some more possibilities, but this guitar isn't really for me, so won't be modding/chopping it up.

Good thing with them is if you ever need a new/better neck you can get a decent Strat neck. Short scale necks are hard to come by in the UK, building two jag-stangs was a nightmare..
