Raising Duo-Sonic Pickup height?

I need to adjust the height of the pickups on my reissue '59 Duo-Sonic.
On either side of each pickup is a screw which is likely the height adjustment screw. Before I start, can anyone confirm these screws adjust the pickup height...or coach me on the correct steps to change their height?
Thanks!

'59 reissue? yes, the screws on either side adjust the height.

"Reissue"...used the term just to be clear that I'm
not referring to a vintage Duo-Sonic. And, yes, Sparky, not to the 90s version either, but to the recent Desert Sand with gold anodized pickguard which I think is closer to the 1959 original.
I appreciate that some reissues are more faithful to their originals than others, but I'm open to most definitions of the term and not too invested in one precise definition of "reissue" right now.

90s duos came in both Fender and Squier flavors AFAIK.

After I made that adjustment the hi-E stood right out...with the tone rolled off. Thanks, Stratphobic. Good call.

That they did, and I just paid for one of Noirie in the classifieds (a 90's Squier Duo, that is). Can't WAIT to get it. Former Robroe and Argylelewis, so it's got some SS M@JO
