New gear week

Post by hendrix1234 »

PIcked up a few things in the last few weeks.

got back from a trip to the US and picked up this from guitar centre, got 50 bucks off as it has a few chips and is missing a knob.
classic vibe 50's tele.
it plays great and sound fantastic but i have noticed when you switch form the bridge pickup to the neck one it drops volume a bit, i may replace them but sound wise their great.

i also picked up a boss OD20 and a set of duncan P-rails for my epi sg custom.

the day after i got back i went to get some strings and ended up goin into a cash converters and picked this up real cheap.
after a clean and some new strings it plays and sounds great.

then a couple of days after that i went to pickup a body and neck i bought before i went away and ended up getting all the parts to finish it.
ITs a robert cray body in inca silver (hardtail), american special neck and pickguard assembly which now have texas specails which are great.Im a big fan of these necks and the guitar plays great and has great sustain.

can anyone see the fender quality control issue in the last picture?
the pickguard is off a brand new guitar and still has the plastic on it.

then about a week later, my mate was selling his epi les paul custom at a good price so i had to buy it ofcourse :)

now my epi sg has a friend

and lastly i need a new amp so i picked up a blackstar HT-1.

its a great little amp and takes pedals really well, really nice gain.

now im poor but it was worth it,ive never bought that much guitar stuff in a short amount of time .
i did have to sell 1 of my guitars and an old amp to get the blackstar though :)

yeah, I'm diggin that strat too.

edit: also, really pedantic detail here but it may interest strat players: I just noticed in the pic hotrod posted, neck and middle are staggered poles and bridge is flat poles. incidentally this is the same way I have my strat, it gives the neck and middle more quack but makes the bridge pickup a bit more even and full sounding.

Wow, you got quite the collection now.

What's the QC issue? I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
