I have been keeping my eyes out for one of these guitars for my daughter and one popped up yesterday. Basically brand new in the box and comes with a Hello Kitty strap. It basically hung on the wall unplayed. I will go pick it up tonight and surprise my 6 year old. I got a pretty good deal on it. I got it for a little more than the red or black ones go for new at Guitar Center. I might put some strap locks on it. I will post better pics tonight.

don't mean to piss on your parade mate, but surely you could've just snagged one of the torino red strat mini's for $99 brand new, and refinned it in krylon pank for like $10?
i mean, i guess this way's easier, but i don't even think those were $200 new...

I got it for $120. For $10 more than you mentioned, I don't have to refinish it and its got the Hello Kitty stuff on it. It a fair deal considering it's a brand new guitar and limited edition.
I didn't want to go over $100, but for my girl it's worth it.

People want way too much for these simply because they have Hello Kitty on them. I saw the black one at the Guitar Show in May and they wanted almost the same price. You can get the full Strat one for $199 if you hunt long enough.

OK, b/c like if you actually bought it for $200, as you pointed out, you could have gotten one of the full sized HKs for that (if you are a patient shopper), and those are very capable guitars.
Nice buy at $120, though.

Should have bought it! At times they go for over $200 on Fleabay.

there are two places a hello kitty guitar belong. In the hands of a little girl who is learning to play guitar and the garbage can.
glad to see one going to a good home.

I got some pics and first impressions. This one is brand new and perfect. Came with the original box and HK strap. The guitar's setup is ok, but not good. Pickups are decent but boring. Pots seem okay. There is some kind of loose screw or something rolling around the body cavity. Strings are cheap and suck. The pink finish is thick and well done. The neck is satin and feels pretty good. I am tempted to rub some Tru-oil on it to darken it up. The tuners seem cheap. I know the nut is small but the strings seem too close together. The low E string looks to like it's too far away from the edge of the neck. Better string spacing on the nut would make it easier to play. Comfortable to play. The neck seems a little bowed while the saddle heights need to be adjusted. I will try to fix some of the issues when I restring it.

That's what I guessed. It would look cool with some black robroe covers.
