One of the clear advantages of the AC15 over the AC30 is that it does not weigh something like 66.58 lbs. I suppose you get a good dirty tone at a slightly lower volume but it seems a bit redundant aside from that.

The weight factor is a big one - I've got an AC15 and I can't imagine how I would carry anything heavier.

I'd imagine lugging an AC15 with 2 speakers is the equivalent of an AC30...the AC15 is probably the heaviest 15 watt single speaker combo I've lifted

I hate how little companies pay attention to weight, as it limits a lot of guitarists(such as me) from having a lot of choice in their gear. Bass amps are traditionally very heavy due to the need for large speakers and wattage, but you can get a lot of lightweight rigs nowadays.

Guitars? SS amps aren't really tons lighter than tubes a lot of the time, even though they should be. I'd like one of those older Sunn SSes, but they're pretty damn heavy. Same goes for the HH amp Daniel Ash used to use I wanted for a while. Nowadays SS amps are a bit lighter on average but you don't get a lot of "unique" sounding SS as everything just wants to sound like a Fender or Marshall.

My Fender Mustang II is pretty awesomely light for a 1x12 combo, but if I'm taking a modeler I'd rather not take a whole modeling amp to a gig. The ZT Lunchbox and Club are great for this, but again, they're the only amps like that, so if you don't like them, you're screwed(luckily I rather do like my lunchbox, but not enough for it to be all I use sadly). There should be more usable guitar combos in the 30lbs and under.

Does a JC120 REALLY need to be 60 pounds or over? I bet if they tried, they could make something like that in 40.

I used to have a vox 2x12 with neodymium speakers, you could toss the thing around with one hand. So light, the speakers sounded great too.

end story, don't buy it! this things weigh as much as vox ac30, i'd rather buy vox ac30 than this shit!

Transformers, cabs, and speakers weigh a lot. You can't really get round that. I imagine the 15 will have smaller transformers which would be lighter.

Besides some people want to drive their amps at lower volumes.

Are neos the ones that the Vox AC30 should come with? If so this makes me happy. I'm starting a nest egg for a proper AC30 (the new mod-con ones but with the proper speakers).

My little 60's Hilgen Challenger (which I believe is 20 watts tube) is a 1x12 combo, light, and loud. It's a bit like an Ampeg guitar amp in design.

FYI. I heard the AC15C1s were getting better reviews than the AC30C2s, im guessing thats where this came from.

just get an ac30 head if weight is an issue. i sold my ac30cc 2x12 and got the ac30cch head with a 2x12 cab instead. more individual pieces of gear but way easier to carry than a single 2x12 combo. plus, less tube rattle, etc.

and for whats its worth, i had the fawn tolex handwired head for a while (the one with master volume and no standby switch) but decided it didn't really sound any better/different than my ac30 custom classic.
