Damn, this could be a worthwhile guitar. I'd swap the pickguard for Tort most likely, but aside from that it should be good value for a JM.

I've been looking out for this for a while, would like to see a photo though. I'm thinking of buying one and selling my Japanese B&B JM as I pretty much only use my other Japanese JM without the B&B neck but need a 2nd/backup guitar. I thought it was going to be a Squier though.

I'm going to buy one of these. I'll switch the gold for tort.
my favorite color combo is that white with brown tort. And a budget jazzmaster with two jazzmaster pickups and a jazzmaster trem! This should be a cool guitar. Any pictures of it yet?

This will sell by the barrelload. A Squier Jazzmaster, with a Fenderlike setup. A dream come true for loads.
Fuck being a lefty though.

An interview where he talks about the original signature model, and the upcoming one.

"I didn’t get too crazy and specific with things because it seems the more stuff you want, the most expensive its gonna get, so I was trying to keep it (the price) as low as possible. I didn’t want anything that crazy. It was just people at Fender have all been into it for a very long time. Now, there’s gonna be a Squier, which is cool. I just want to have it not be so expensive, have kids be able to buy it.

so is this one a Fender or a Squier?.... the price convertion to US dollars would be about $550.... since guitars are always alittle more expensive in the UK I figure it will be about $500ish in the states....which is ALOT for a Squier and the linked site by the OP says Fender...?

I bet it will end up at $350. I'm not sure if Squier ever goes over $400, I'm sure they have but it's not very often.

We get royally ripped off over here, so I agree with that guestimate.
The US price will probably be $350 tops.
Pics would be nice too!
Looking at the specs, with the trem, adjusto-matic bridge, etc... I don't imagine they'll have the hated strat jack of the regular squier jazzmasters.
Fingers crossed for something good...

Taking the UK price and doing a straight conversion is not the way to figure out how much a squier will cost. Usually you just take the number and put a dollar sign in front of it.

Very nice! If this ends up being more jazzmastery than the VM's with the stupid bridges that they have out now, I'll probably get one!

They've been talking about this for months on offset guitar, I thought they were just wishfully imagining it up. not sure if stoked for it but it looks like a proper jazzmaster from the specs

Yeah, I always came to that conclusion.
I suspect it may end up coming in Purple as well. It seems J basically wanted to get decent Jazzmasters into the hands of younger/poorer people so it wouldn't surprise me if we got different colours based on other guitars he's used.
