Super Duper 2 in 1 as OD pedal

Post by johnnyseven »

Has anyone ever used Super Duper 2 in 1 as an OD pedal? I have been experimenting mine and it really kicks arse, the only problem is that it is a bit loud. Nice and bright and articulate with a growly bottom end. Would be good if I could get something similar with more control over drive and tone, any suggestions?

The vast majority of OD pedals I have tried do not have the bright (but not harsh) voicing that the Super Duper has. I was just wondering if anyone knew of an OD pedal with a similar voicing but also had the benefit of a tone and drive control.

Arent' the two stages meant to give you drive control(s)?

Why not ask the guy who made it to add a tone stack?

Or just get a Box Of Rock. (3 SHOs, some filtering and a tone stack)

Have you tried a Hot Cake? Its a great OD but I really like it as a boost to.

Thanks Mike. I don't really want to get the Super Duper modded as I use it as a boost and then i'd have to get another boost pedal. The 2 boosts do give drive control, it was a tone control that I was really after. I was wondering if a Box of Rock was related to the SHO/Super Duper, I shall investigate. If Owen thinks they're too shrill they'll probably be right up my street.

If I remember right, the main channel was shrill and the boost was wooly...

Mark, I really think you should learn to build pedals. It'd save you so much money.

He's not buying pedals anymore because he's financially responsible since moving in with his girlfriend.

I'm just thinking about it at the moment, due to my responsibilities i've decided to only allow myself to buy pedals with funds from selling other pedals - as I sold one this week I have funds available. You are right though, I should learn - although the first and only time I tried was a disaster.
