The d string on my cv duo has broken 3 times this week. I use elixir nanoweb .009s, and it breaks at the bridge. What do?

First thing to try is adjusting intonation. In case you don't know how:

While you're there check there are no sharp bits of metal at the point where they keep breaking.

does it break at the string through hole or the saddle?

9's on 22" scale? Blimey! They must be like elastic bands!
As said - check for sharp bits, use some lube and/or pencil graphite to smooth the string over all contact points.

It should be a 24" conversion neck on that guitar.
Maybe take the saddle off and feel for sharp spots use some 800 grit to lightly sand the groove. Maybe switch barrels around.

I have checked intonation and it is properly intonated. as for the saddle itself I checked it with a jeweler's magnifier and i can't seem to find anything.

Could it be the strings? Are they of the same batch?

I has two packs of Earnie Ball strings where the ball popped off of the hight e string after a day of me changing them. Shot off like a bb gun too.

How can anyone play anything lower than 11s on a shortscale blows my mind. Fuck, I can't even play 10s on a strat scale anymore cuz I fret too hard and make the plain steels go sharp.

I have no idea why this is happening. Try some Dr. strings.

Could it be touching the saddle height adjustment screw when you are playing? If so, a heavier gauge string might stay in place better.

dude this totally happened on one of my mustangs with a tunomatic at the b string.......my guitar guy took some very fine sand paper and went through the saddle with it.....broke three strings and never another....... i would do the same to any edge that will break the string.......it doesnt hurt and if there is something there like a rough edge that you cant see then you will take care of it by sanding lightly...

oh and i use 10s so i bet its a sharp edge...really check where your strings broke and you will find the problem area....
