PRS brazilian rosewood

Post by JJLipton »

So i was looking at some PRS and came across this interesting piece. Apparently there were only 500 made. Mixture of gold hardware and silver. Anyone know what the value of one is? This store wasnt 280,000 yen for it, which is about 2,800 usd. It seems a little overpriced to me.

totes. the blue ruins it. as does the headstock. i'm sure it plays nice enough, though.

As much as I don't like PRS's I don't get why the headstock ruins it for people. If I let ugly headstocks keep me from playing gutiars, I would never have even touched my Ovation Tornado with a 10 foot pole

Very well made guitars but overpriced, lacking character (both tonally and aesthetically) and garish. You can much better value at much lower prices.

Aw, really no love for PRS here? I know westex has my back, and possibly fran...?

I was looking at this les paul, too:

However, i think the PRS is more unique (compared to the LP), and would suit me better.

Haha I really think I'd like how they play and that just aesthetically they pretty much define everything that is NOT ME when it comes to guitars. I am somewhat a poseur of course.

Every guitar (and guitarist, I suppose) is posey, you just have to pick your style. PRS's play very well in my opinion, having played a few of the super expensive ones just out of curiosity, but they lack character.

Actually on scrutinising those pics I really like that shade of blue and don't mind the flameyness at all. Over all it's not my cupper stil but the real thing that grinds my gears on an otherwise nicely put together piece are those HORRIBLE looking covers on the back...something about them being black and odd shapes just looks outstandingly cheap against the nice workmanship. I think they'd look better in cream to match the binding and pup surrounds....or matching wood covers if thickness was sufficient.

Fuck it - I'd own that guitar but never for that price. It would have to be cheap enough for mere whimsy.

You may as well get it now because after the Doog spearheaded Super-strat revolution it'll be PRS time again and shorstcale will be arse-over-tit for these. Reckon they'll command as much as £65 in the classifieds!

Yeah i dont know when i became such a cork sniffer about guitars, i guess im always searching for "the one" even though i know it doesn't exist. So now i lust after curly maple tops and rediculous 80's super strats

My first electric was a PRS McCarty Standard similiar to this. They are quality guitars, but I sold mine cause I am more of a Fender guy. I got enough money from the PRS to buy my Fender AVRI Jaguar and a pedaltrain pro. No PRS hating here, they just are not for me.

This doesn't make me vomit. In the right light it has an Albini feel to it.
