I've been using DR.
I've been using the tite fit .11 gauge on both my stang and my jag but I feel like making a change. I want to try flatwound strings on the jag. I believe my local shop has DR Legends and D'Addario Chromes..
any recommendations? I'm thinking like a .12 or .13 set. i dont really want a wound 3rd.
as for the stang, the DRs are working out for me right now.

I think I'm using either D'addario's or Rotosound strings at the minute.
Getting tired of these woofty elevens though. Probably gonna jump up to some heavy flatwounds next string change me thinks.

D'Addario or Ernie Ball. Always 10-46.

I ticked Rotosound, but the poll didn't work.
D'addarios are too short for my Musima Elgita.

Elixir Nanoweb. I try other brands sometimes, but the Elixirs seem to stay fresh longer which offsets the higher price.

D'addario's for me, cause they were the cheapest when I bought a bunch of strings at once.

And for what it matters, 11s on shortscale, 10s on stratscale

It varies between Ernie Ball, Sinister and Stay In Tune. Probably Ernie Ball 75% of the time.
My local guitar shop stocks some strange brands of strings.

GHS 10-60s for my Nu-Sonic (tuned to C/C#), 10-52 Rotosound Blues on everything else (even the Jag).

D'addario or Fender pure nickel .11s. I like the Fender ones because they come with a wound g string, but generally I prefer the former to the latter. Tried flatwounds once, sounded like assssss.

DR Pure Blues. I like guitars with tiny frets so using steel core strings worries me that I'll be in for a refret before I know it.
I use 10's regardless of scale (24 3/4 to 25 1/2). If I HAD a shortscale I might use 11's.

Rotosound yellows, I bought a big bundle because someone was selling them cheap and just ended up sticking with them, you get a spare high E too, that's always nice

Since I got my Jag, I've been using d'Addario EXL115Ws; they're about he only set of .11s available locally with a wound G; since moving to a wound G, I don't think I'll purposely go back. Tuning stability on a wound 4th is SO much better than unwound.
When I was playing .09s and .10s I played Fender Super Steels or something like that, they felt good and had a better life than most others I played.
For bass, I play DR on my Jazz, Fenders on my 5-string, Rotosound on my fretless and LaBella on my VIs. The DRs feel and sound great, plus the coating (black) looks sexy as hell on my Aerodyne; they also last for ages, but I don't play with a pick with them, as it eats away the coating, which makes finger pucking uncomfortable (you wouldn't think such a tiny ridge would hurt, but it does after a while ;P ). The Fender 5 string set is nice and lively with decent life. LaBella Hellcat VI strings (also fit the Ultra VI) sound and feel great, and are the cheapest strings available for the instruments... given their quality, you'd be mad not to use them

d'addarios all day, everyday. usually 10s or 11s on the tele and jag, 13s on the acoustic.

D'addarios mostly. Sometimes dunlops with a heavy botto. 10s for the most part.

I use Thomastik-Infeld Vienna Strings, the Power Brights .010 - .045.
These strings sound fantastic and are made in Austria.
Bit pricey (10€) but totally worth it!

I've tried their sliders before when I had some money. They were ok but no better or worse than anything else I've tried.
Honestly I don't think any pack of guitar strings is worth $15, but whatever floats your boat.

@Nick: I've tried them once and stuck with them since. I got a very nice guitar shop not soooo far away, when i buy minimum 3 packs i get them for 8 €.
You can never compare the prices from Europe to US
The next time I go shopping I'm gonna get me some Ernie Ball Classic Pure Nickel (
Ernie Ball EB2251)
Anyone tried them before?

I think I'll go with Daddarios. y'all seem to be into them, when I was researching why my mustang broke so many strings at the bridge I read at multiple forums that Daddarios dont seem to break that much when used with a jazz or mustang trem.
I'll just get the regular XLs in the most-man gauge I can find at my local shop and try out whatever flatwounds they have.
