Gibson EB-4L

Post by serfx »

so you all remember that bass i picked up from Pat last december..

when they finally got around to quoting me to fix the pick up it was $485.. so i said fuck it..
and picked up a reissue eb3/SG bass pick up from somewhere online for about $40 shipped to me..

had to do a little bit of fucking about to make it fit.. took about 1/8 out of the pup route.. (no pics..)
covered some weather strip foam with autobody tape, and mounted the pickup on that...

took out the switch, and wired it up with 500K volume/tone pots..

i'll take some shots of it soon.. but i recorded some demo tracks with it the other day for my new project (S.O.S. [stop the oil sands])

bass -->tube screamer -->DI to cuebase artist 6
i did a little bit of compression on the mix, and a bit of mastering
but its pretty much how it sounds when i play it out of my rig..

oh wow... great to see this one again.
bummer about the pup, thoug. +$400, fuck those guys... c'mon talk to novak if he wants to fix it. and he can make a copy of it too.

for those not in the know, these have FOUR pickups in one. yes, for real.

btw, i do have another sg-bass carcass for you if you...
it's a '69-'71 EB-3 with the split headstock (like a spanish acoustic) and headstock repair.
beat to shit. badass.
