NGD 66 Coronado

Post by Thomas »

Well after searching about for aaaaages (special thanks to Stewar for letting me bend his ear on what I should pull the trigger on) I finally managed to bag a Coronado on ebay for £530. Its a Coronado I not a II but since I never really use the bridge pickup I can live with that. It's the silver pup model and it sounds phenominal! Its also sunburst and with the plain dot fretboard so I'm in guitar heaven right now.

The neck on this thing is without a doubt the best I've ever played. Super stoked right now!

Well I had a bit of extra money sitting about and thought I'd jump on a few good deals rather than just frittering it away on beer and stuffs. The Jaguar was only £900 odd pounds inc shipping at the time due to the dollar taking a bit of a hammering on the day I bought it. The Coronado was 550, how could I not buy it at that price?

Silly question really.

Not having £550 being the answer.

I think the whole 'shortscale' thing isn't just about scale length. To me it's about unusual/offbeat/cool-as-fuck guitars. And the Coronado fits in well with that. That is by far the best of your recent acquisitions. Very jealous!

If that's the one off eBay I put a bid in on it too haha. It was a ridiculously low bid though, just in case it went unnoticed lol
Good to see it went to a shortscaler!

Totally happy for you and jealous at the same time. A Coronado is definitely on my guitar bucket list as well.

Thomas, Did you buy this from a Londoner ? A guy came into my work asking for a box to ship a Coronado in... and he told me he sold it on ebay for around that much. I think me colleague gave him a rectangular Gibson box. ?

Argh awesome !! He seemed a little gutted it went for so little... after I was telling him that I would have paid that to his face blah blah.

He sold it to buy a Gibson hollowbody. Don't remember which kind. Small world !!
