I'm interested to see what was the first year of AVRI 70s Strat? When was it first introduced?

I saw some info on net that it was October 2005 but I'd like to verify that with you guys... there is no hope from official Fender forum I already posted there no replies whatsoever  :? . I saw there were a few threads about catalogues already posted here, for instance.

So I'm asking some of you good souls to help me out with this 8) .

I didn't notice that one until way after it came out. It is an odd duck... a Nitro'd 70s RI :D

Best neck ever though. RI 70s profile is Fender's finest IMO, the 70s Classic MIM neck was the smartest post-AV '57 Fender purchase I ever made. That thing has been/will be on so many guitars.

I have AVRI 70s Strat but there was some discussions about these axes and one guy said he has Olympic white from 2000  :? , thing is that I have early build and it's 2005.

And yeah... this axe has some of the thickest Fender necks I've played. Which is a good thing IMO I love the feeling of that rock solid neck 8) .

The AVRI is a poly finish, same as the originals, hactually. I agree with you completely on the neck, though - the best strat neck I've ever played. I'd love one one day.

My searches have revealed that the AVRI 70's was released in 2001/2 in the USA, but this seems awfully early to me - I had it more around 2005ish. But my perception of time isn't the most accurate...

Thanks.
About the neck... it is supposed to be finished with Urethane (body is OFC Poly'd :D ). Anyway it is high gloss finished neck... that finish goes over the frets actually, noticed that when I looked at them and I saw the finish actually wear off of them (it will wear in no time since of bending etc.). But luckily that is only visible when you look at them at natural light...

Whup, my mistake. I swear I read a page on Fender once that listed it as having nitro, which evidently left me with permanent snarkism.

Thanks.
I find that 108 Fuzz goes well with humbuckers (have Gibson SG) but somewhat better with that Strat. But I think _that_ is highly subjective, someone else likely may had different opinion.
On lower settings it is practically slight overdrive while you really have to dial that "FUZZ" knob hard in order to get more dist/fuzz from it.
Another words, for those seeking heavier sounds I wouldn't exactly recommend this, it isn't really 'wild' enough, but if you want subtle & nice rounded fuzz I guess you wouldn't miss with this. Maybe this is an oxymoron, a _subtle_ fuzz but not sure how to picture it better as it really is that way when you compare it to some more wild ones namely FUZZ factory and such.
I find it much much better with BUFFER switch used in most occasions. Ya get more defined sound with BUFFER (not sure how to describe it better).
But sometimes I like it to be muddy so I switch buffer off. I'm not able to get good humbucker sounds without buffer tho, sound becomes too muddy :? .

...around 3:30 he set knob at 1 'o clock and it is nice overdriven sound, few secs later thing goes into heavier waters when he cranks it up, full dial.

BTW not much use on showing off my effects since I have 3 pedals left, MXR 108 FUZZ being one of them  .
Am not much into pedals, i seek to get myself some nice amp and to keep it as simply as possible. Or until I get bored of it  .
