Squier Strat Candy Apple Red - Upgraded

I bought a 2008 Squier Standard CAR strat off craigslist for $90. I've wanted one for a while, but the $230 retail price wasn't worth it. It was in great condition. The only problem was the super light anemic looking neck. I decided to refinish the neck, which will be it's own project. In the mean time, I threw this together.

First I filled the bridge post holes with pieces of oak dowel.

Then I buffed the body with StewMac swirl remover and a foam pad that goes on a power drill. I HIGHLY recommend this stuff. It removes almost all light to medium scratches, and makes the finish like new again!

Then I drilled the new post holes. I used some automotive touch up paint to blend in the area around them. It matches surprisingly well.
Here it is all put together!
Next step is to get a mirror pickguard and back plate.
- Squier loaded body
2000 Fender American neck w/original tuners
Wilkinson tremolo
Schaller strap locks
