Acoustic(brand) guitar amp?

Post by westtexasred »

Know anything about this amp? It is a G60 2x12 guitar amp made buy acoustic in the early 80's. It is 60 watt solid state amp with 2 channels, each with it's own EQ. It has a full size spring reverb tank and. It sounds really good for a SS amp and has a cool distortion effect. They want $125 for it. looks like the one below.

I've heard good things about the brand, but haven't actually played one. From the pics and specs, it reminds me of an old Marshall Solid state I used to use. If so, it wouldn't be a stage amp (even though i used mine as such), but for 125 bucks, you can probably get some sweet, and UNIQUE sounds.

Acoustics WERE the solid state amp of the 70's. Frank Marino (Mahogany Rush) used to use the big ones (275 watts?). And that was a rock spectacle. You should here his version of Purple Haze live.
