Good octave pedal that tracks well that won't break the bank

I have a desire for an octave pedal again. I'd love a Micro Pog but don't quite have the cash for one, are there any cheaper alternatives out there?

If you're only doing single string stuff, the Boss OC-2 (and its many clones) will do you fine, can be had on the cheap.
Seriously though, the Micro POG is worth it. For a start if gives you another set of sounds with the octave UP dial and tracking is flawless regardless of note choices, pickup selection or playing style; not something that can be said for most "octavers".

Yeah, another micro pog thumbs up from me...
... and its really versatile in it's basic-ness. I use it for all sorts !!
Got mine for about £90 used which aint too bad ?
I'm not sure there is anything out there cheap that will cut the mustard IMO when it comes to poly... if only single note stuff you need, then I really really liked the Danelectro chilli dog octave.

It's not a mad-popular pedal, but the Ring Thing has an octaver as well as all the loopy, crazy ring mod sounds.
The tracking is brilliant and it's extremely versatile. You can even add modulation in on top, too. Considering it's exactly the same price as the MicroPog it should be on the list, depending what you want. If the Organ sounds are a must, then the MicroPog wins. But the Ring Thing goes from 1 octave above or below (or anything inbetween like 5ths or 3rds) as well as Ring Modulation to nice Chorus and Uni-Vibe effects AND has nine presets.
Neither are particularly cheap, though. The Boss OC3/OC2 are good and can be had for a good £50 less, but the EHX stuff really does have the best tracking of any octave pedals I've ever used.

Thanks chaps. I've had both the OC3 and Micro Pog before and I know that they're both good (especially the MP) but I just wondered what else was out there.
I've just found a Micro Pog on ebay for £75 plus a fiver for postage, it has a broken LED though but I guess that won't matter as i'll know when it's on.

Update: Just bought it.
Question: When I had mine before I always used the power supply, can it safely run off a regular 9v?

i use an 80s Boss OC-2 Octaver, yes the one with the "r". it tracks (the low notes) like shit... but sounds pretty cool.
for my type of music, at least.

Interesting stuff. I love playing with the octave pedals on GuitarRig because the tracking maps right across the neck in any pickup, but I've always been disappointed with pedals. Would quite like to try a Pog out.
