THIS is a badass bass

my brother is a bassist and loves building basses, too. He now ordered a really nice body and neck from Warmoth.
neck wood is dubinga, ebony fretboard, he says slapping is great on it and it plays like butter with this special Warmoth neck profile.
I think, it looks fantastic.
just wanted to share this..

It's a very unusual looking wood, so smooth though. Also I have that same bridge on my J (in 4-string version), it's excellent. What's he going to do for pickups?

I see it's a 5-string but the enck still looks big on the body, is it a dinky J body?

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, your opinion man.
5-string jazz necks are typically pretty wide and sorta goofy looking, I'd say the body is a standard size but the proportions do look a little off for some reason?

That neck's grain looks way rad, though, and that Badass bridge will have you sounding huge. I have one on my P-bass.

dunno, exactly, yeah it looks a bit offset, thats why I like it.. fits actually very good to the nice neck for playability on the higher frets..
gonna give Warmoth a try for myself, I think with a Mustang..

at the moment he is just oiling it. with hardoil the grain just pops out, wowey..I did that on my guitars , too, the playing is great.
electronics, he has some really expensive Delanos I think, on his other basses he has some very complicated electronics, custom made, mid-frequency modifying..passive/ active..
well, he´s a Jazzer..

I think actually he looks quite balanced for a 5 string..and its a HUGE neck..

bubinga, yeah, right..the Ebony fretboard is perfect on this..I had a Special DC with ebony..great
