For those of you who would care... I am looking to buy a new distortion pedal, and would like to spend less than 100 bucks on it. Sound im looking for would be like rush and pink floyd ish. If you need to know my amp is a vintage fender tube amp with just a volume tone and clean channel. Guitar im playing a fender 72 thine line RI and am about to buy a waynes world strat and change the pickups if that helps at all. But pleas help me out

i know gilmour is using a bunch of things like analogue man pedals now but over the years he has used fuzz faces and big muffs to get his sounds. which era floyd are you trying to emulate?

I think Gilmour did actually use a RAT, so that's always a good bet, they're very Marshally in terms of the EQ shape, albeit with more gain. They're also a lot more flexible than both the Muff and Fuzz Face, although you might want to try one out yourself first.
The Box Of Rock is also very Marshally, more "amp-like" than the vast majority of overdrive/distortions I've owned or used.

+1 ProCo Rat 2 pedal. It can do fuzz sounds and Marshally sounds, lots of variance within those 3 knobs.
