I know a few have been tampering with a few recently... Look like a great deal of fun !! Reminds me of the days I began learning.
I'm now on the look out for one now. Have searched eBay but none have reached the criteria. I loved Doogs recent purchase.
Post your own personal favourites. The more lairy the better...
cheers

Not really lairy, but I used to have one. Probably the only guitar I regret selling. Was such a nice player, and because of it's 'metal' looks, the floyd rose didn't look ugly.
Didn't sound too bad either, even though it had Duncan Designed Pickups.
I wander if the guy I sold it too fancies selling it...

I have one of these MIM Floyd Strats. It's actually pretty terrible. The neck is savagely thick and uncomfortable on the edges, the fretwork poor and the bucker sucks... plus the whole guitar just weighs a ton, more than my solid ash GFS tele that almost gave me an O'Hernia. It was bought the same day as my Jag-Stang, by my older brother. He left it here for me to work on a few years back and forgot about it, as did I until just now. I bought him some new locking nuts a couple years ago and put them in his christmas stocking but he probably ate them with some sherbert by mistake, it's like neither of us can be arsed at all with this thing.
But I often steady myself on the case on the way into my room after a night of drinking so it's all good. I'll fix it up and get my Dr. Rockso on one of these days.

Not really a superstrat but after Doogs (trend setting) home the armless guitar I fancies some Floyd rose action and bought one of these:

I cut my teeth on Superstrats, in the early 90's they seemed the best value for money guitars. Being a fan of people like Jeff Hanneman (Slayer) and Dr Know (Bad Brains) also meant some of them look cool to me.
Always had one in my collection as i do feel at home on them but i've never truly mastered whammy bar techniques. I've had a few Ibanez (RG550, EX Series, Roadstar II), a few BC Rich (Gunslinger Blade, ASM), Vesters (a little known high quality MIJ brand), Charvel, Jackson, etc. But my favorite is the MIK Squier Stagemaster Deluxe. A set neck affair and the patent Floyd Rose is as good as some original Floyd Rose i have owned, mine also has an EMG 81 in the bridge for teh kurk Hammetz.
Not a great looking guitar but plays exceptionally well
I'd like another Gunslinger but in Neon Green this time
But this is the one i'd really like

I actually own a blue model,
However, i haven't seen or played it in over a year. It's a nice guitar and worth buying used, although the neck pickup is far too bright. The lack of a tone control makes it hard to tame this.

this thread is no good. i'm already looking on ebay for floyd rose parts and high-output humbuckers.
i have a single hum (bridge) pearloid strat guard and white duncan invader if anyone wants to build their own on the cheaps. see my various 'fieds posts featuring them shits.

This is the same model as my main guitar, though I've modded mine pretty hard.
Easy to pick up for 250-300$, classic Japanese quality, Ibanez Edge trem (arguably better than a floyd because of added mass and better ergonomics), and sounds good to boot.
Those GFS sooperstrats did look rather tasty, if only they made them in tasty turbo-bright neon yellow.

FUCK AN SOOPERSTAT
(the Desert Sun Yellow never photographs well - both are mongrels built from parts off ebay)
Seriously though, what are you looking for as ebay is littered with cheap quality 80's no longer wanted guitars.
I think Steve Vai's old Charvel "Green Meenie" is probably my ultimate superstrat. LINK

You can get Gunslingers new for £200 online now at some places. They must've changed the spec from original floyd rose though.

I have experience with a few ibanez edge trems now, and i think the original edge and edge zero are my favorites. The edge is very similar to the original floyd, while the edge zero has many modern conveniences.
Despite everything, i found that an original floyd rose set to non floating will have incredible tuning stability.

I think the EX Series had the original edge trem and that was nice, really sensitive and easy to get 'flutter' techniques going.
Although it stayed in tune, the original Floyd on the Gunslinger i had was'nt that great tbh, it was stiff even after trying different springs. But the other high specs still made it a great guitar.
