NPD- Jekyll and Hyde

So my twin doesn't really take pedals like a champ, more like a bitch. I haven't tried out too much with it yet, but most overdrives sound really flat with it and fuzzes and distortions sound thin as shit. I commented on how the amp didn't really like anything I was throwing at it to the dude I was buying it from and he admitted it was pretty finicky. He said that he'd tried a bunch of 808s and clones but only found one box that was worth a shit with it, and pulled out the Jekyll and Hyde.
I dig the thing alot: I don't attribute any magic or shit like that to it, and I'm sure there are tons of better boutique pedals, but this was the only overdrive that actually gave any balls to the amp. Twins are fucking clean, and seem to have infinite headroom so I was really pleased with how this thing added some versatility to the sounds I can get from it. Plus it gives other pedals a fighting chance while it's engaged.
Also I'm cheap as fuck, so the fact that the pedal has a distortion channel made me feel like I was getting two pedals for the price of one. The distortion is worthless for it's intended purpose, with any gain on it sounds like some shitty zoom metal head piece of shit but it works great as a slightly brighter overdrive than the main one and the two of them together sound pretty dope. Cool?
