quick question: are those Squier Jaguar necks true shortscale?
I always forget which number of frets is and isn't a conversion neck.

22 frets for a 'real' shortscale neck.

200 bucks for one would make me consider getting it!

yeah, that's not much more than a shortscale neck alone would cost.

there is a 1966 RI Blue for $499 at a guitar Center in New Jersey. I searched the used gear but can't post a link.

No picture yet. Might be the same one Robroe posted earlier? If you are interested, call them on the phone. That's how I scored my AVRI Jaguar.
There were also a couple of Pawn shop Mustangs, one for $499.

The necks are nice on those. Just looked at one today in fact. If you are willing to refinish, you could plug that hole, repaint and then add the jaguar tremolo route.
Or at minimum make a custom plate to cover the strat jack hole and make it a right angle jack.

for two hundred bucks you've got a body and neck you can turn into any style jaguar you want with another 100 - 150 in parts.
