Last week I ordered this Mustang from Bach guitars , shipping was fast, 5 days.
When arrived and tested I decided to mod it, the Jazzmaster tremolo isn´t really stable nor good sounding. The body is allegedley alder but when sanded down I tend to poplar or basswood.

the strange rollerbridge seems to be an exact replica from a mosrite ! , complete with compensated neck radius, but this had to go along with the tremolo.( on the foto I already messed up the order of the roller sadlles )
on the second picture you can see how high the bridge is, which needed an almost 3 degree neck angle !

ok, I sanded it completely down ( I had to know how the bare wood looks like, as I prefer natural finishes), together with a new Squier Duo Sonic bridge.

in nice pooooooo..not perfect, I just wanted to test the stain on the wood, if it would cover the darker upper area, but no problem..

as the tremolo cavity had to go, I made a nice fitting block of poplar and glued it in. ( sorry no better picture ) , then cut it and sanded it down .
the neck pocket had to be routed down flat, no angle, almost 2,5 mm..

So the verdict on the "stock" guitar isn't great? Get what you pay for kind of thing?

the stock guitar sounds really good, but I know what I like
..as said, the tremolo and bridge didnt fit very well the Mustang design IMO..when you play a guitar with that kind of trem, you always hear some ghost notes .

the brown, yeah, me too.. , price was about 200 euros shipped, a good modding platform..

looking good, and nice work filling in the block..

ok, after staining it got 2 layers of can clear coat..still have to sand it smooth when its completely dry. I like the dirty 70ies look with wood mods..

I fucked up the stain behind the bridge a littul bit ..but W T F its a ROCKER !






sounds great..maybe because of the thicker body?

that is great. a real vintage look, all things considered.
