EHX.com wrote:Got the digital blues? Coat your guitar in warm, organic tone. The new Analogizer thaws out digitally processed guitar, and gives you the sound and feel of an analog delay without the long delay times. Boost your solos with up to 26dB of gain. Fatten your sound. The Analogizer is the antidote to harsh and lifeless sounding digital pedals.

it sounds like they are going for the sound of tape saturation and the EQ curve of an old tape machine. uh, and they put that weird "spread" delay on there.

It does just seem to be an overdrive pedal, a good overdrive pedal admittedly.

Awful name though.

Wait, this isnt a just another delay pedal? That video is trickery.

Apparently the spread knob controls a short built-in delay. I don't know to what purpose.

So it's like a bit of a saturator with a delay built-in? That should belong on my pedal board, then. I really hate having large pedals on my board and this has the right sound and form factor for me. The Holy Grail Nano + this + Tech 21 should give me all the tone I need.

Like a 65ms delay; barely long enough to be noticeable. Although it might cause some weird comb-filtering at lower settings.

That's the only delay I ever need!

You run a digital, cold-sounding delay pedal through the Amberswitchtipizer and it comes out all analog-y and stuff, I think.

It actually does sound pretty nice. All the examples in that video sound pretty nice. It definitely does what it sets out to do, no doubt about it. And it would hold more interest for me if I could see it at work in a few more applications. But is it preferable to simply selecting the "analog" mode on most modern delays, instead? At least it's small. Price will be the big factor, I think.

Anyone else get kinda turned off by the sort of cutesy EHX look? I'm really starting to prefer the stately, unadorned Boss.
