Got it today for 51€. it is an audio interface that connects to iPhone thru the phones jack just like iRig and the peavey equivalent but it also features XLR mic input with phantom power.

I've tested it briefly and so far sounds really good thru Garageband, Amplitube and Vocalive.
Will try to do a demo soon as I think ere is nothing on utube yet, shortscalegeardemos should be 1st.

"HIGH QUALITY RECORDING!" = lolz.

Also, $40 US is pretty sweet.

Only $40?!?! Isn't that what the iRig thing goes for? I want to get one of these for my iphone and if this is that cheap, then I'll definitely opt for the tascam over the iRig then. I recorded a bit of an acoustic song just through the microphone on the iphone with the garage band app and it turned out surprisingly well. I definitely plan on using that app more.

anything i've recorded in the last year has been with just the iphone mic. it's pretty amazing.

I would like to try this out as the irig seems to have issues at times picking up interference and a good input for the iPad would be great

You can use a USB mic or USB mixer running a nicer mic into the iPad Camera Connection kit (dock connector - female USB dongle).

I'm interested in iRig Midi

And I recently bought one of these to record Nanostudio loops/sequences/softsynths and SirSampleton with:

Some crap I wrote earlier that I think this may be of interest to anyone with eyes on this thread:

A serious limitation of devices like iRig and Tascam's iXZ
