Is anyone here familiar with these? My very first bass was an O'Hagan Shark Bass that my Mom bought for me at a pawn shop when i was 13.
I was surfing around shortscale the other day and came across the First Guitars thread and posted about it there: lank

Regrettably, I sold mine several years ago when I was in college cuz I was dead broke. I started to get a bit nostalgic after that thread and have been surfing the web for more info on the old girl. Turns out that the company, O'Hagan / JEMAR, was short lived and only made something like 100-150 TOTAL shark basses and guitars between 1979 and 1983.

I would love to get my hands on one again, but the chances seem fairly slim. If anyone happens to know of one of these hanging up in a pawn shop somewhere or sees it for sale, please let me know!

About the bass: It's fucking massive. The case I had was an old converted keyboard case. The headstock is also enormous and looked like Gumby, which is the nickname I had for mine. It was also very solid and weighed a ton. I'd put the weight somewhere in the 10-11lb range, if not more. It sounded a bit like a P-bass with more emphasis on the highs. Though I played through a piece of shit Peavey amp when I owned it, so that may skew things.

I miss this sumbitch.
