So, a couple of days ago we were in the studio doing some recording, and I fired up an old Selmer amp that was lying around and stuck it through an Orange 4x10. The guitar channel was fairly normal, not a million miles away from a fender twin but with no mid control. The bass channel was absolutely brutal, teeth-shatteringly loud.
Cut a long story short, I found a similar one on eBay (no built in reverb but has an effects loop marked 'echo'), snagged it for £101(!) and asked Fran to collect it since it was quite near him (and it was collection only). Fran's been a total gent about it and I can't thank him enough. He's had a play about with it and seems satisfied. It has teh Mullardz!

That's an awesome price. My mate got the 100 watt version and a 2x12 cab in a local guitar shop recently for 200 quid.

May i add at this point..
The guy that sold Stewart this has cherished it, i chatted to him about the amp. All original parts, serviced regularly, the thing is fucking awesome. I plugged it into my 4x12 on the bass channel and it shook the foundations of my house. Really loud!
All the tone is there, no bullshit, just a HUGE clean blank canvas to do what you want.
Really good score and im pleased i could help!

Sorry to waffle on but im as excited as Stewart about this.
For those that dont know, old Valve amps have a character, they fill a room with a smell and give out a lot of heat. They command respect, there is a frightening level of power from them, they hum, they glow. In modern language 50w means 100w, they are loud fuckers and you cant reach a 'break up' stage without a pedal.
These amps were built when they 'meant it'. There is no fannying around here with boost channels and onboard delay, its just all brutal tone! LOVE IT!

I'm too embarrassed to tell what prices they go here for. Quite a lot higher that a puny 100£. Do want one.

Really? Crivvens. Still, you get all those $300 silverface bassmans to soften the blow somewhat!

As I said elsewhere, the fact that it does both treble N bass is a real plus.
Looks like a fucking beaut. I expect to see this in full effect when I see you in April.
