Similar to the delay pedal thread, what's peoples favourite modulation (past and present) and why?

Boss CH-1 or PH-2. I've got a CE-3 and a BF-2 but neither cut it really.

Them Ibanez FL-9's are good aswell.

I would vote for my Monte Allums modded Boss TR2, MXR custom shop reissue Phase 90 or 45, MXR Flanger or Ibanez FL9 and for chorus my Ibanez CCL Dual Chorus (made by Maxon) or the EHX Small Clone.

1. Ibanez FL-9
Subtle Flanger that can be used just to add some depth to your tone. Almost impossible to dial in a bad setting.

2. Boss CE-2
Just a great Chorus that produces the sounds of a lot of bands i like.

Boss CE-2 for pretty much the same reason Fran stated. It just sounds really good.

But seriously.

Fav modulation is the trem on my uncle's '64 deluxe reverb. I'm not into modulation pedals that much so I really haven't tried many good ones. The hardwire rv-7 reverb comes to mind, best reverbs I've heard, really regret getting rid of it

Big box version only though - got to have that volume drop, seriously. Used to love playing stuff with some sublet phase then switching it off and getting straight up sound and a little boost.

Script Phase 90 is a very close contender too though.

I've never been overly keen on modulation effects, however I got on well with a EHX Nano Small Stone. I also liked using chorus but I find my CE-3 to be a little thin and subtle for my liking.

Is octave modulation? if so POG2

If not err... DOD Stereo Phaser or Moogerfooger Ring Modulator.

WAH WAH!

I had a Deluxe Electric Mistress, but it shit out on me. My Small Clone is fun for those John Scofield-esque solos, but I'd rather have a Small Stone.

I have an applause 'super chorus'. like this:

really lush deep chorus. the enclosure is similar to a boss pedal except a little chunkier and heavier; seems to be made out of cast iron or something.

+1 on the Gig FX Chopper. Massively versatile trem, plus I finally tried it out in stereo last week which was a full on revelation...
