Entwistle Pickups

Anyone had any experience of these? They are dead cheap - might be a good source for projects.
This one caught my eye: on blade and one pole coil -

I had some PAFs in a Tanglewood LP that had a great sound, decent spec as well.

I have some Entwhistle Strat pickups, I was very impressed with them, especially at the price I paid. They are the xs65I think they've been rebranded 62s. Currently residing in my Duo. I bought the strat set as it was cheaper than actually buying 2 separate.

Well worth a pop for cheapz Thom, the ones i had were hand wound/cloth wire/alnico etc

They come as standard on Alden guitars and now Tanglewood electrics. I think a few other cheaper brands have been using them, too, but Alan Entwistle is also responsible for designing almost all current Burns pickups. He knows his shit.
The ones in my Alden are great. They're mini-humbuckers with a bit of a filtertron vibe, visually, but they sound like simple ass-kicking humbuckers, low-ish output but fat as fuck. They made me fall in love with humbuckers for the first time in years.

I have them in my Tanglewood bass and they sound pretty great.

Looks like a copy of the dimarzio crunch lab or d sonic. Are dimarzios expensive in the U.K? I new crunch lab here is around 70 bucks.

A crunch lab is about £80 here so quite a difference!

It's unfortunate that their UK distributor doesn't have any of the Nemesis at the moment. I've emailed them to ask if and when they will be getting some. There's one in Israel for £17 shipped, but I don't want to risk the comedy import tax.
Once I get one I'll let you know what I think and maybe send it round for whoever wants it to try out.

currency conversion says that's $124! Ouch, i got a crunch lab/liquifire set in the U.S. for $140.
