I have an opportunity to trade my travel-practice amp and would like opinions.
I travel with a Fender Frontman 10 and could trade it plus $15 USD for a Danelectro Honeytone HT 50.
Any opinions on this HT50?

Thanks, kyp. Yeah, why change unless I know I'm upgrading and getting a deal?kypdurron wrote:no ... exept that I wonder what you expect to get any better in this price range?
The thing is, I can't find solid info on the HT50. I read a vague reference to it being 40 watts, retailed for $119USD, and I wonder if it might perform better, as in louder, wider range of tones perhaps, therefore more versatile. My Fender Frontman is 10 watts.
But what I read was unsubstantiated so I hope others with experience with the HT50 can confirm any details.

So I go to the pawnshop and get this 1999 Danelectro HT50 for $10 USD plus my old Fender Frontman 10 in trade. Take the old Honeytone home (this is not the plastic "honeytone" being sold today) and discover it's stout with a wider range of distortion. I'm happy.
Then I see this...

An if only I'd waited I could have got this touched-by-god HT50 for $4,300 more than what I just paid!!!
