Tele Project

As you may have read in the classifieds I picked up this MJT Tele body and have decided to stick the Strat neck I have on hand on there and make a fun little project out of it. As I'm currently out of work this will most probably be a slow burn but I thought I'd pop a wee thread up about it anyway andupdae s I snag some parts. The neck fits great, the holes line up too. there's just a tiny gap at the heel ( I can just slide a guitar pic in the gap) I'll probably just fill it with a little maple strip to keep it stable, the intonation won't be an issue as there should be way more than half a mm spare in the travel of the saddle screws. As it is the neck is a tight fit and there's no movement in it at all.

Pics are crap cos there's no natural light so I'll try to snap some more tomorrow. The burst is really nice but looks severe because of the camera.

aha, thought i recognized it.

what color pickguard you after? i have some stock gubbins (white pg, three saddle bridge, control plate) i'd let go for cheap if you want them. ($20 for all?)

otherwise, if you were interested, i'd be happy to round you up some stuff from guitar fetish and post them to you (assuming you can't get the stuff from elsewhere).

Hot damn that relic job is classy. I love the look of Strat necks on Tele bodies too. Should be nice!

PM coming your way Hotrod.

Yeah Dillon, I've always liked (actually preferred) Strat headstocks on Teles, pity this is the smaler type. Fingers crossed it turns out nice!!

Looks really nice, I'm another fan of big headstocks on tele's. I try to use CBS style necks on all of my projects.
