dag namit... I'm gonna be kicking myself about this one for a while. I was just looking at this Roland JX-3P, it's at a music store in KC, I was about to ask hotrod to take a look at it for me... oops, too slow. someone offered them $150 and they took it! ! damnit! I was gonna offer $200! :x

Couple weeks ago, I almost dropped the hammer on one of these for $350 including the PG-200.
Choked and now it's gone, so I feel ya.

That Olo Garb vid just twists the blade in the wound. So much potential!

yeah it is like the juno's unloved sibling. $350 with the pg200 would be sweet since the pg200 often goes for that much alone.

that guy makes some great videos. I especially like 3:45, 4:50 and the part at 6:something where he plays the thing into the sequencer and then plays along to it. the fact that this has a sequencer makes it an even more ridiculous deal. how many other $150 - $250 synths (analog, early digital or hybrid) are there that sound this cool and have a sequencer?

I'll ask the owner if he's interested in selling if you're interested. He doesn't use it much, hence the long-term loan, but it has sentimental value i think.

foiled again... there was a JX-8P at the rockville, md Guitar Center for $150. called them yesterday, guy put it on "hold" for me. my sister went in today to pick it up and... oh they sold it this morning. :?

really??? come on.

oh well, JX-8P sucks anyway, the JX-3P is better, people only like it because it has velocity and aftertouch. for all practical purposes my JV-880 can do the same sounds and more.

that's right kids, I've found that what I've needed has been right here all along. I just got a little yamaha sequencer so I can do the cool stuff like in that video up top and I'm calling the search off.

ok, will do! I started to record a little bit of a demo of the JV-880 but it's only very cursory as I haven't fully explored programming it yet. I really wonder if it bases some of it's waveforms on the JX-8P though because it sounds curiously similar. or maybe that's just the "roland sound" for ya.

I did record a short demo of the yamaha FB-01 I sold to puplehaze19x:
