My wife tells me yesterday of a guitar at Goodwill. Check it out today and get it. It's a 1975 (December 17th, and 68th guitar made on that day) Takamine C-128. Also came with a broke ass case that I need to put the hinges back together on. You could land a 747 on the fretboard, but it sounds nice. I dusted it off and put on some new strings.

awesome. I have been on the look out for a cheap classical but want one with a pickup in it. Ibanez actually makes a decent one with a pup for less than 300 but I want to find one used for under say 125-150...

I really love the sound of this guitar, and nylon strings. I had different cheepo classical that was so fun for blues twiddeling, but I gave it to someone that needed it more than me. It's fretboard was narrower than this one. I think I will get used to the very wide neck over time. I don't imagine just banging around on it, so it is going to be a test.

Looks nice! I seem to always hear stories of people finding nice classicals for cheap at goodwill stores, or for free on craigslist, or just lying on the side of the road. One of my students actually found one laying next to somebody's trashcan on the side of the road. It's in pretty nice condition too, they just need to put new strings on it.

I think this one spent much if it's life the case. Usually when I find a classical guitar in a junk store or garage sale, someone has put electric guitar strings on it. And if the neck isn't half torn off the action is unplayable because of the metal strings. Then people figure they are crap instruments and toss them out.

The Goodwill where I go usually figures out what the lower going rate is for the particular model of guitar they are trying to sell is and then slaps a sticker on for 50% of that.
