mystery Jag on german ebay ... what do you think?

just scanned german bay for Jaguars and found this: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Fender-Jaguar-Ro ... 0625254784

What is it? Dude says "Road Worn Series" with aging and changed bridge. Afaik there is no Road Worn Jaguar. I also see no hint for country of origin where it would usually be, though there is a union jack sticker where a japanese jag would have this. L series neck plate wants to attract the vintage fans? So what have we here? Partscaster? real 60s Jag, Avri? Or a heavily reliced japanese one? not intending to really buy atm and find it suspicious, just curious ...

I think it's a relic'd Japanese Jaguar with a Mustang bridge. If the price is right, this is a hot guitar.

I'd tend to agree - the neck plate could just be a reliced reproduction, and that Union Jack looks like it was put there to hide the MIJ / CIJ serial number.

More than anything, it's the tint of the gloss on the neck that tipped this in the CIJ bin for me.

Woul dit then be refinished, or did the MIJ Jags in Blue come with this sort of primer? There's nothing like that under the poly of my Jazzmaster. Also, all metal parts scratched ... well, but the trem looks japanese indeed. just compared to mine, that still has the chrome, but the same apperance otherwise.

It's a CIJ Jaguar. He recently added it to the description...It's just a self made relic CIJ...

yup he found the country of origin under the sticker as it seems. Ill just sit back and let it pass though, unless it ends up in a price region that makes it a killer deal

Reckon it's sketchy through and through. Avoid.

Interesting statement... I'm only a half hour flight from French soil (Guadeloupe, St Barths, and St Martin), and unlike the Brits and the Dutch, the French made a huge effort to have their Caribbean territories resemble mainland France. Next time I'm down there for partying, I might have to find a music shop to see what they have to offer.

if you're bidding, I definitely won't. It's not that I should afford another guitar at this time ... and besides I'd prefer my hardware with less scratches :)

MTK3000, Japanese Jags and Jazzes were sold new in most shops here until a year ago or so. They were around 700 €. Since then used prices have obviously increased. But you were able to get them around 500 at the time. Which is still what you might end up getting on ebay sometimes. Don't know if that refers to where you are as well. But maybe you can buy one in France and get it shipped to you at french inside-country parcel prices? Don't know.
