£329

Tell me why this isn't a good buy. A Fender for the price of a Squier?

(or link to the post about it that I didn't find)

Looks nice (save for the bright maples) but to say it's the same price as a Squier is misleading. It's £60 more expensive on sale than a CV when it's on sale. Honestly, CVs I've played fair equal or better than most MIMs.

Squier CV have way better pickups.

£40 less: Squier Classic Vibe 50s Stratocaster Chrome Hardware Maple Neck Olympic White. Do not go for the gold anodised scratchplate myself, that would have to go. Looks fine on the Duo in Desert Sand.

£10 less: Squier Classic Vibe 50s Stratocaster | Maple Fretboard | Fiesta Red. The knobs and pickup covers look like really cheap and nasty plastic, they'd have to be swapped out.

...but I hear what you say about pickups and playability.

Who ever keeps a strat stock? I don't think anyone does. Of all guitar shapes, sizes, weights and necks, I have experimented with many but always come back to the strat.
