The current Vintage Modified Stratocasters seem to be around £239.
This is a stroke of genius. I fucking love Black/Black 70s Strats.

So do I , but: basswood.
(aware that this doesn't upset others as much as it upsets me).

I really couldn't care less.
Basswood guitars can sound good or bad in my experience, it's not the wood itself that is the issue. See Jag-Stang = shite. Mustang = great.
Certainly sounds lovely in these demos, lots of spank.

Squier is really on a roll here with all these new products that look, and hopefully will, sound great. Cant wait to try it out. Wish they would do a Squire Toronado though

It has to be said- of all the Strats this is possibly my fave so far. 70's Strats look ace, the cream one screams Richie Blackmore and black on black looks classy.

Absolutely. Although these aren't CV, VM stuff still seems to be pretty high quality. Squier is absolutely brilliant the now.

Tort on the creamy one would be great along with creamy knobs and pick up selector switch. Would prefer a maple neck though.

I love the black one too, and it's been a long time since I've gotten excited about a strat.

Well not really, they're making guitars that kinda look like '50s-'70s Fenders but with circa '80s/'90s appointments.

ah so these are literally the exact same specs as the regular VM strat, they just look cooler. :\ differences between this and a real 70s strat: tuners, truss rod, frets, radius, micro-tilt, string spacing, bridge block, saddles, body wood. so........ pretty much not a 70s strat at all.
oh well, if they have a good neck they should still be cool. does anyone know what the necks are like on these VM guitars?
