Does this exist? (MIJ 335 content)

Did any of the more accurate of the big late 70s/early 80s MIJ names or the ones associated with that sort of thing (Greco, Burny, Ibanez, etc.) make an ES-335 copy in all black? It seems the most common Gibson variant is a dot and there was an 80s reissue but it's not something I know much about at all. I know Greco made a Walnut one which is seemingly extremely rare so I'm thinking that perhaps one of these might exist but it's not something I've ever seen.

Here's the Gibson 80s RI of a dot version of the sort of thing I mean.

If somebody did one my money would be on Burny... though I can't actually recall any black ones.

ESP Edwards make a fantastic one right now, though I don't know if it still comes in the dot & chrome hardware form as they don't sell them in the States.

Try to look for Orville which was officially associated with Gibson and also Epiphone Japan, here's a cherry model.

Those edwards have a sort of matte finish. They don't look too impressive in person.

That's like the spitting double of my 335, in terms of paint job and the faded binding round the edges of the body. 'Cept for mine has a retro fit Bigsby and is a lefty. Also, that one appears to have a P90 in the neck.

There were loads of black Japanese 335 copies made in the '70s - I've played any number of them in my time with a slew of different names on the headstock. Some had bolt-on necks, but I've seen quite a few set neck ones too.

Are you looking to buy one? If so, I wouldn't rule out a Korean (Peerless) Epi 335 from the '90s - the quality is comparable to a lot of the '70s Japanese ones.
