Things what I bought have arrived:

The boss ME-20 arrived this morning, the modulation / delay effects are pretty damn good but as expected the drive sounds are far too digital sounding, the volume pedal is a blast I've never bothered trying one before had great fun making whale sounds all morning. I’ll have to spend a bit of time programming some good sounds as the factory presets are over the top demo sounds. However this and a good drive pedal are going to be tested as my new live set up at my next gig.

also:
New pickups for the blacktop Tele project arrived this afternoon, ‘Kent Armstrong vintage 12’s’ going to get a push/pull tone knob for the split sound and a new cap. Really like the look of these with the 12 pole pieces showing.

nice NSD. do you know if the delays/modulation match any of the footpedals BOSS do as with some of the latest multieffects?

I don't think they are direct lifts from single stomp boxes but heres my opinion on what it has...

the delay sounds like my dd-3 but has slightly shorter max ms time 700ms vs 800ms, I've never had a reverb pedal but this sounds good, the chorus, phaser and flanger sounds make all the right noises and sound good. the tremolo is a bit meh, and I've never been a fan of a rotary effect. the sounds in the OD section aren't my thing (digital) but it does have a good compressor.

didn't really answer your question but there it is...

Pulled the control plate off the Tele tonight, and have come to the realization that my ham fisted soldering won’t cut it. Way too footery for my lack of ability, I think I’ll get an electrician mate of mine to do it or it’ll just end up a big ball of solder...

Looks great, mate- I love really "squared"-looking pickups.

They're quite bright sounding (ie not muddy) for humbuckers (or maybe that's cause I've been used to the stock ones fender had in it) the coil split has a decent single coil sound not too thin and weedy as with some I've heard, but there is the usual drop in volume. And the fact that tone pot works now probably makes a big difference.
