I know some people here have used them (Doog?), how are they? I'm considering one of these.

I've no idea if I'll like playing fretless but it seems like it'd be quite fun. The other option to try it out is to try and buy a cheaper used one that I could resell for a similar price I pay to buy it, but then if the Mighty Mite one is likely to be good £90 isn't a lot to spend on something like that.

My friend at work made a bass and a guitar using Mighty Mite necks and he rates them - feel fine to me too. He also made a fretless bass, funnily enough, but he made his by pulling the frets from a Squier and then doing some sort of carpentry magic. Surprisingly fun. I was playing it with my eBow the other day for the whalezfuckingtonez.

I've wondered if these were in any good because the price is definitely cheap enough and they have a decent amount of options.

They were well respected in guitar shops, a Mighty Mite neck (or pickups) was seen as an upgrade. But i've not heard them mentioned much for years. Since the whole world got online all you seem to here about is warmoth and allparts.

I looked into them for my girlfriend's tele project and from what I've gathered, (no actual hands-on experience, mind) their overall quality seems to be reflected in their low price. (go figure) There was talk of lower end Squieresque plastic inserts in the truss rod route, less than stellar fret dressing and I've heard some reports of slightly misaligned fretboards... Again, considering these necks seem to sell at half the price of a finished Warmoth, I don't think any of these to be unexpected characteristics. They might be worth a whack for someone that has the experience or desire to do finish work but it looks as though they'd be somewhat hit or miss for someone hoping to just bolt one onto a body and go. One thing worth considering is that most of the negative reviews I encountered had been written a few years ago and some people had claimed that the company had since improved their quality control.

In the end, we chose to not take any chances and take our business to Warmoth but I will say that the finished SFG ash tele body we recieved from Mighty Mite is very cleanly routed and beautifully finished, considering the $130 it cost. Bodies and necks are a completely different ball game, from a manufacturing perspective but if I'm to take this as an indication of the kind of quality that goes out their door, I might not be so hasty to rule their necks out as an option in the future.

Nah, I just had a Mighty Mite preloaded scratchplate in my 'Strat'. Fine, affordable brand though!

The neck on my Morello style 'Home The Armless' guitar was bought from here for like 60 quid or something. Very impressed with it, has a 'satin' finish, TOTALLY usable like that but it can be sanded down to refinish it.

CH Guitars is a great place for stuff, however, not tried a neck from them yet.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they come from the same place as those Mighty Mite necks.

Yeah, this... to the point where I used to think they were strictly based in Cali or something. They dropped off the map in like '98 for me.

My understanding is that were that they're made offshore. They look nice. I checked them out the other day. Haven't put one on a guitar.

mighty mite pick ups are cheap. or inexpensive.
i got some for dirt cheap, and am quite happy with em
