Hi there. Really hope this is the right forum.
I have a question for lovers and geeks;
So this is my late uncle's Italian Welson guitar. Apparently it has been lying in a closet for over 30 years (no joke). The thing is I have no idea how old it could be and what kind of a model it is. Also of course what it is worth. I checked the catalogs online, but are focused on late 60s and don't show this kind. It's fully hollow, has double florentine cutaways and a vibrato more common for Zerosettes. Can anyone help? I'd be happy about any kind of information. Thanks a lot.

Definitely has a lot in common with other mid 60's Italian guitars. That tremolo looks similar in construction to that of a Goya Rangemaster...the bridge cover and neck plate look similar to the ones on my Vox Tempest XII.

I'll bet it's a fun guitar to play.

Hehe.Thanks. Ya, the upper PU's broken... See, the thing is Welson didn't produce those in the 60s. At least not according to their catalogs of that time. I was wondering if it has some parts that can definitely pin point it to a production date. Let's say "oh, that trem wasn't produced before 1972..." or that kind.

Just looking at that guitar all I want to do is play the strings behind the bridge.

Looks like it's probably a Dynacord. Similar assymetric ones can be seen here.

Should give you something to google. Maybe also try looking around the Euro Guitar forum.

Like the florentine cutaways. They were made in Italy. There's a good info page here:
