It came bundled with my Digitech RP255, which works (or should eventually work) as a USB interface. What I can tell you at the moment about Cubase LE is that it has the most confusing, needlessly complicated installation process I've ever seen. Finally gave up last night and went to bed. Once I've finished slogging through it, I'll have more to say.

I used to use cakewalk sonar, that was a very good intuitive interface... I use logic now. While I've never used cubase I remember people telling me it wasn't the most intuitive piece of software ever made.

it has tons of drum kits taken from the yamaha motif synths (yamaha owns steinberg, the maker of cubase) and it has an easy to use drum sequencer for quickly making rhythm tracks.

the different versions of cubase are really confusing though. they keep changing around the numbering and tier system. I have Cubase Essential 5 which was the lowest tier two years ago (but still really powerful).
here's a review I did. I have no idea where this LE version fits in.

Wow. Mages, you have just made me much more excited about jumping through all the remaining hoops to get this thing up and running.

Yeah, his review kinda convinced me as well.
But maybe I'll try Sequel first.
