I haven't tried it, but the demos for the Nobels ODR-1 sound great.

i posted a similar question a while ago. here......

http://www.shortscale.org/forum/viewtop ... highlight=

i finally got the dwarfcraft internet and im a real fan of it. its definately leaning very heavily towards the fuzz side of things but if you dial back the madness you can get a really clear OD out of it PLUS youve got the gain boost available as well. its taken a lot of tinkering with but i do love it.

G;ad you are liking the internet Ben. Like you said it takes some work to get it dialed in right, but once there it a good pedal to have on your board.

Nobels for sure, great pedal.

Other pedal I've owned that kind of meets that description is the Digitech Bad Monkey....I always kind of felt that one was bland but other people really seem to like it a lot

I literally just bumped it in the Classifieds, actually.

Great pedal, I'm just no longer a fan of that sound. Still fairly mids-orientated, but probably less so than the 808.

I always heard the Boss OD3 was like a more hi-fi 808.

Have one, love it. Never had a 808.

you want a Barber Direct Drive Super Sport.

with the internal trim pots, you can dial in exactly how much, or how little, midrange

they should all be made like this.

it is my 'tube screamer killer'

Isn´t the LTD the tubescreamer-like pedal from Barber?

I absolutely love my Maxon OD-808 as well, but i want an additional low/medium gain pedal with less mids and maybe a little more bottom end...

If you can find one the Pearl OD-05 from the 80s is a bit of a cult. It has the usual OD and volume controls but also has a requency control and EQ gain, letting you dial in the tone you want pretty accurately. It uses the same Texas instruments 4558 chip as in the classic TS. I also have the Nobels and it's a good OD and works as a clean boost if oh turn the drive down.

Thanks a lot guys! But since yesterday i really love what i get out of my Proco Vintage RAT.Looks like i found that sweet spot for me.It was soo nice in the last band rehearsal yesterday.I got the "perfect" sound for our music. Not too less and not too much distortion/overdrive.
Probably because i ran now the RAT into the Klon Centaur clone i have and not vice versa.
I have the Klon always on.Set the gain on zero, treble knob as needed and volume that it is like the bypass signal, maybe a little more.
Maybe that's the secret for me.

I like teh midranges so every TS i've owned has been good. But i'll second the Bad Monkey, more dynamic controls so you can EQ out some of that hump.

Except a tuner...but it has to have true bypass like my polytune mini...
