I am truly considering selling my 1969 Mustang Comp (orange) along with my 1991 Strat Plus. I just don't play them at all any more. Don't get me wrong, I am playing... Just not the Fenders. I have a serious hankering for something new... diifferent.
Some one talk some sense into me before I do something I amy regret.

Strat Plus whatever, but how could you sell that Orange Compstang? That is one of the sexiest guitars ever made.

Those Orange Compstangs are already worth a fair chunk of change. I'd say hold on to it for 5-10 more years and then sell it.

Sell the Strat. Think long and hard before you sell the compstang. Nothing worse than sellers remorse when it's something you can't replace.

Comp stang is amazing mate, Dont do it!. Get it set up or something and breath the playability and pick-up-ness back into it.

Unless you really need the money i think you are crazy selling them. If you have loved Fender you will return and you wont get a better pair than them.

Pretty nice lineup. What guitar could possibly rival those?

Thanks for the wake up call. I pulled out the Mustang last night and played her for an hour. She isn't going anywhere. So comfortable, so easy to play.
I did look on Gbase... a 69 Orange CompStang Bass - $4000 And on Ebay... a 71 Orange CompStang - $4850 WHOA!
Red and Blue ones all around $1800-2000.
The Strat? Well, everyone needs a Strat... and a Tele... and a Les Paul...

I wouldn't sell em, but I am interested in knowing what you would ever replace them with? Your gear list looks pretty well rounded.

Yeah, you
can't afford to sell the Mustang. Think what it'll be worth in ten years. Whether you sell it or keep it then, you'll really appreciate it's value.
As for a change, you might consider a Les Paul Special
with P90s (not the ones with humbuckers

). Fairly light and smallish, great tones, and you can get good used ones for about $700. They are classic; collectable value goes up; and stout players.
If you want to stretch a bit, consider the Gibson BluesHawk with P90s. A fine axe discontinued in 2007, very light, petite shape, a real sleeper that's already beginning to appreciate. Selling for $700 to $1000. This one's beat up and not worth over $700, but gives you the idea:

Have fun whatever you do.

selling that orange compstang would be like getting a job smashing your dick with a hammer all day.
