NGD: What the hell did I just buy?

Post by SKC Willie »

went to a local used guitar shop and they had this guy sitting on the wall. plays like a dream. It's an older guitar, the clear coat has yellowed giving it a much more green look in real life. Binding has yellowed and cracked. All kind of mojo but I have no idea what it is.

I paid 150 and I think it was worth it because I've been gasing for a super strat/les paul recently; this is the best of both worlds.

so, what do I have, shortscale?!

also, the headstock is a little bit different than the fernandes ravelle

and I guess I could be wrong but it seems mush older than that.

Do you know the country of manufacture? Just judging solely on the pictures you posting I'm taking a guess that it's something out of the Samick factory, circa late 80s-mid 90s

the truth. the headstock is close but different, all of the ravelles I've seen had two knobs, this has four. it also doesn't have any serial or country of origin.

fernandes have been making ravelles forever and there are a shit ton of different versions. the headstock looks like a ravelle, the body looks like a ravelle.

weird. the copies have four knobs.

the quality is ace, though. it seriously plays better than any of my other guitars.

i'm wondering if they're from the same factory, just unbranded?
