Just seen someone on the fender forum saying that this is due to be produced
Has anyone else heard anything or got any news on it?

So.... I can expect a Mustang with 2 humbuckers, a strat trem, and a strat output jack?

Def not talkin' about the bass ?

I've not heard anything about it generally, nor through Fender at work. I usually hear about a month or so in advance regarding new models to be released.

I'll believe it when I see it. It wouldn't actually be too outrageous given the recent products squier has roller out but I'm not getting hopes up from some guy from a music store heard from the guy that works there, that he heard a Squier Mustang was in the works.

looking at the VM Jags and Jazzes I'm not sure if I would like what would come out. Besides, it's just internet gossip at this point ... think the bass was meant.

I played one for the first time last week, and I was more impressed than I expected to be. Mind you, I only played it unplugged, and am commenting on playability/feel, not on the pickup sound. It felt pretty decent and the neck was decent. For the price, it wasn't a bad seeming platform. With that said, though, I'm pretty sure I'd hate the pickups, and I dislike the bridge... but the body felt ok and the neck was nice :P

The tuning stability was way off because of the bridge the bridge itself looked stupid and out of place the pickups weren't terrible. The nck did feel good but the body seemed or I was made of feathers. The only good things about it are the nice tort pickguard, the neck, and the tuners, but if I found one second hand for 150 or less I would buy it just for the neck tuners pickguard and pickups the pickups online get around 30 to 40 bucks

If it's two single coils with a single toggle switch, I'm sure everyone in this forum will buy one.

yeah. i like mustangs best so yeah. i would probably by one and do a jb humbuckered mustang just like my cobain mustang. i have a white mustang but i dont wanna destroy the look of it with a humbucker in bridge mode.

So... if it's basically a Duo?
If it's priced right, yeah, I'd likely want one ;)

I would LOVE a DuoSonic II, and Squier could likely do it right.

not if it's part of the vintage modified series. those are like the pawn shop shit only even more whack.

who the fuck would put a strat jack on anything as a "totally gonna modd?" Squier.

who would put a strat bridge on something when a toronado/musicmaster/duo bridge would fit the contour of the guard? Fender.

why would we trust either to make a budget mustang/duo sonic that isn't an abomination to either namesake?

I mean they invented the strat. So I would say they are pretty smart they also build better short scales than anyone else in the business I would also say that puts them at the top of the list in reasons fender should be trusted

in what year did Fender invent the strat? what year is it now? when is the last time Fender came out w/ a totally new design. (throwing buckers in a jag is not a new design).

The marauder is a cool design and it's body is shaped like nothing ive ever seen(I don't know everything) but the 3 or 4 rail pickup I've never seen and the modern player line looks pretty good for Chinese guitars
