Sup dudes, I've noticed quite a lot of people have been speaking highly of superstrats and I've been pretty fascinated with them myself recently. Personally a superstrat to me doesn't need to have a kahler or floyd rose type of tremolo but I understand if people see that differently. Anyway, a few years ago a friend of mine brought over his brother's guitar and let me borrow it. I fell in love with the neck and was always telling him that I really wanted to buy it. He declined so I set off on a search for my own series 10. A few months ago I finally found one on ebay (the exact same model/color as my friend's brother's other than the headstock) and I fucking love it. I don't recall exactly how much I payed for it but I don't think it was over $150.
It was kind of hard to get information about the company partly because of the confusion between bently and bentley. From what I've read they were a company based out of saint louis that started off making acoustics under the bently name. Series 10 was what they used for their electric line which I believe came out in the 80s. I managed to find some old ads that I think rule but I forgot where I found them:
Another tid-bit, a few years ago I read that Spencer Siem of Hella has a series 10 telecaster copy. So dudes, if you see a series 10 guitar on the cheaps I recommend getting one.

ur correct, these are budget guitars that St Louis Music Corp Released in the 80's-90's... the same corp that owned Alvarez and Crate at the time.... They pop up on CL here quite often for obvious reasons..... They play well and are usually HEAVY AS FOOK... most I have seen are chip board bodies thou...
That one looks ace.....$150 is above what I would value one at but then again I prolly would have paid it too as that color is titties....most go for $80-100ish here in the STL

I like the ones with the genuine strat shape, like the pink one in the brochure.

That green one is awesome. There's a strat style one on ebay right now for less than 100. And a really goofy black metal shape.

It looks awesome, but wouldn't be for me. Unfortunately it takes the thing I can't get past on strats and makes it even worse (the knob placement)

Ah the 90... When tophats and musky, worn to shit white trainers went hand in hand.
A poncho and shorts? Why the hell not?

Why is it that i get a picture of Mortiis as a first result, when conducting and image search for "dirty burlap poncho"?

Apart form the Shark tooth inlays that looks like a Marlin "Nasty" sold in the UK around 1988. Just when JHS/Hohner was taking over the brand distribution.
Is it a plywood body by any chance?

goots: is this guitar white or green?

It's green, similar to that of an aged sonic blue, way lighter than my repainted squier (but that's not a fender color). Most seem to think it's a plywood body and I think you're probably right, looking inside the routes it looks like layered much like plywood. I have yet to see a series 10 ric copy in real life but they're certainly out there. I'll see about doing a demo in the future, I just deleted my youtube account to make a new one and they're giving me the whole "you cant use the name you want because someone already used it and deactivated it (they should really allow for name changes like ebay)"

Is the headstock a 2 piece thing? Can you see a join mark on the rear just before the nut?

And the shitty Korean tuners.

Angled headstock would either require two piece construction, or a ton of cutting, milling and wasted wood.
