Trying to identify a pickup

This was what came with my 78 Musicmaster. I thought it was the stock pickup... but it isn't, so I have genuinely no clue what it is.

Any ideas?

Looks like the pickups in my first guitar made by "Vantage".

I don't think it's an EMG, since it had 250k pots... I'm seriously curious, since this pickup is fairly quiet in the Musicmaster, but any other pickup I put in there is extremely noisy.

Is it 2 core wire or more, can't really tell from the pics.

My tech agrees with you... he says Japanese OEM pickup.

3 core wire... might be an active pup, esp if it's as quiet as you say. I just flipped a Bernie Rico guitar to lefty for a mate and the active EMG that was in that looked almost identical. 2 core wire with extra red wire to connect to the battery.

Could be active, thought for about five seconds that it was lace sensor. until I noticed the lack of a lace sensor logo. *lolwut*
